Data Quality Analyst

Reporting to and working closely with the Senior Information Management developer, the Data Quality Analyst is a member of the team responsible for the support and development of database and data collection tools used in a collaborative research project on emerging infectious diseases.


The Data Quality Analyst will be responsible for all data that is received by the Information Management team of the PREDICT project. The Data Quality Analyst will work closely with PREDICT country staff to ensure data quality standards are met. The Data Quality Analyst will also work with the software development team to ensure all software is tested and meets user requirements.

Specific responsibilities include:

Analyze data from offline and online tools and accept or reject the data into the live EIDITH database.

Interpret data, analyze results and provide ongoing reports of data quality issues

Raise data quality and performance levels

Provide a high level of data quality awareness

Maintain and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical data quality

Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in the data sets

Filter and “clean” data, and review the data to locate and correct code problems

Test all software products for quality assurance and usability

Provide input into software user interfaces

Proactively improve the quality of PREDICT reporting

Work closely with the country level staff to ensure data is of high quality

Work closely with the Senior Information Management Developer to prioritize business and information needs

Locate and define new process improvement opportunities



• 5+ years of experience in a data quality focused role

Proven passion for the data quality discipline

Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts

of information with outstanding attention to detail and accuracy

Adept at reporting results and presenting findings

Ability to work with little to no supervision

Strong email communications skills; must have the ability to communicate clearly with country level staff where English is not their primary language.

Proven ability to meet established deadlines

Good multi-tasking skills
